Two months after Simon Monjack’s found dead on their West Hollywood Hills home, the Department of Public Health has reportedly launched an investigation into the deaths of Simon Monjack and her wife, actress Brittany Murphy partly caused by mold found in their house.

Los Angeles’ Department of Public Health is now inspecting the couple’s home amid suspicions that mold growing in the property could have damaged Brittany and Simon’s respiratory health and served as a mitigating factor in their deaths, according to TMZ.

According to reports, Monjack died from pneumonia and severe anemia and Murphy’s cause of death was determined to be anemia, pneumonia and multiple drug intoxication and was officially ruled an accident.

Simon Monjack, husband of the late Brittany Murphy, was found dead last night in his Hollywood Hills home, just a mere five months after his wife’s accidental death, thus making the whole saga that much weirder.

As of yet, the cause of death is unknown.

Screenwriter Simon Monjack died at the home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road, just five months after the death of his wife, according to Sgt. Louie Lozano. The cause of death was unknown late Sunday night.

“We have detectives at scene,” Lozano said. “They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it.”

At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home.
